Two construction workers were unloading long steel parts with an excavator. One operated the machine; his 29-year-old colleague stood by the trailer and was fatally injured.

Whoever slings or signals never stands in the swing or drop zone of the load. Use an excavator for lifting only with a load hook, approval and eye contact between operator and signaller.
